FAQ

A: The Samsung Open Source Conference 2024 will be held on October 12, 2024 at Novotel Manila, Araneta City.
A: SOSCON PH 2024 will be a whole day affair, starting from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As such, we advise all attendees to plan their day ahead to enjoy the conference with no hassle.
A: The conference is offered free of charge, and anyone can participate. While it is free, seating and souvenirs are only limited to 300 participants. Hence, it will be on a first come, first served basis. This means that only the first 300 attendees to confirm attendance onsite will be allowed entry.

A: An email notification will be sent to you confirming the completion of registration. After signing up, you will receive an email stating that your registration is successful along with your unique code. Kindly take note of your unique code as this will be asked by the Organizing Committee onsite for attendance tracking purposes.
A: Follow-up emails checking if you are still set to attend the event on October 2024 will be sent periodically to your registered email. To make sure everyone is accommodated, the Organizing Committee asks for your compliance and honesty regarding your prospective attendance.
A: Attendance confirmation will start by 8:30 AM, but queuing numbers will be distributed by the Committee earlier at 8:00 AM. A registration desk will be situated outside the hall where you will present the unique code you received during registration.
A: Given the limited capacity of the venue, we highly advise registrants to arrive on time. The committee cannot assure that seats will be available for latecomers.

A: You may change the application information after being entered in the system. However, it would require you to sign in using the email address you used and the unique code sent to said email. Please send us a message at sosconph@samsung.com to follow up on your registration. While waiting for a response, you may re-register using your correct email.
A: Since the event is only limited to 300 attendees, we highly recommend that you arrive early at the venue for your convenience. Further announcements by the committee will be made on the week of the event, so please standby on social media (Facebook/ Linkedin).
A: Given the limited capacity of the venue to 300 participants, the organizing committee highly advises everyone to arrive at the venue early to up their chances of getting seats and swag bags. Walk-in attendees may still receive the swag bag at the end of the event, but only until stocks last.
A: You will be informed through your registered email once the recordings are available indicating the link where you can watch them.
A: Yes, a swag bag will be given to the first 300 attendees to arrive onsite. Attendees may also win during the raffle. Swag bags and raffle prizes will be given to attendees at the end of the program.
A: Certificates will automatically be available for your generation in the SOSCON PH website. Before being able to do so, you will be asked to provide feedback on the event as well as your unique code to check if you indeed attended the conference.
A: In order to provide a full learning experience and be able to network with each other, we ask for all attendees to finish the entire conference. However, if the attendee is unable to finish the entire conference, we may only issue the certificate of participation provided that they have finished HALF of the conference.
A: Lunch and PM snacks will be provided onsite to the first 300 confirmed attendees. For those who want to eat outside of the venue, restaurants and other food places are also available near Novotel Manila Araneta City.
A: Participants are encouraged to make use of the strong data connection in the area to connect to the internet. Charging outlets are limited and we recommend that participants bring their own portable charging devices with them to the event.
A: Parking is available at the venue for flat rate of PHP 150.
A: Yes, you are allowed to take pictures and videos inside the venue. You may post your SOSCON PH 2024 experience on your social media accounts with the hashtags #SOSCON #SOSCONPH #WeavingTomorrowsTechscape #LearnShareNetwork #opensource
A: Prohibited items to bring include weapons or dangerous items, illegal drugs or substances, alcohol, animals, and anything that may disrupt the event or pose a safety hazard to its organizers, speakers, and attendees. This is for your strict compliance.
A: Attendees are expected to dress in smart casual attire for the event. This means, no shorts and slippers, no sleeveless tops, etc. The venue is air conditioned, so you are advised to bring a jacket or hoodie in case you get cold.
A: Yes, the event is fully accessible to people with disabilities. There are ramps and accessible restrooms should anyone need it.
